Personal growth, lifelong learning & social opportunities

Update 4 October 2021

As you would be aware, the Premier announced details of the Victorian Government’s ‘roadmap’ for the gradual and phased lifting of current COVID-19 restrictions. Based on the current Victorian ‘roadmap’, we are hopeful that face-to-face classes (including social, recreational, Learn Local and Further Education) will recommence in November for fully-vaccinated participants. This will of course be conditional on health and medical advice closer to the time. We will provide further advice later this month.

Regarding the start of Term 4 this coming Monday 4th October, we advise that in line with advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all Community Centres (Neighbourhood Houses), TAFEs, universities, Learn Locals and other training providers in Victoria must currently remain closed and only deliver remote learning.

Unfortunately, some of our recreational programs such as cards, bingo, digital devices and mahjong can only be delivered face-to-face. Therefore, until restrictions ease, these programs will remain suspended.

Online Social and Recreational Classes

We are delighted to confirm that the following online classes will continue in Term 4 until face-to-face classes can recommence

Active & Fit (free pre-recorded sessions)

Pilates (free)

Poetry (fees payable)

Ukulele (fees payable)

Strength Training (free pre-recorded sessions)

Saturday Yoga (free)

Early Learning/Childcare

Until 26 October, our Childcare will remain open to children who are already attending (ie vulnerable children and children of parents who were APAW workers prior to 26/10). Subject to government advice closer to the time, we hope that our Childcare will be open to all children of fully-vaccinated parents from 26 October.

Stay Safe, and please reach out to us if you need to. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
